COTTAGE GROVE — A New Richmond man has been charged after a June 1 police chase in Cottage Grove ended with two damaged squad cars and a barricade in a residential neighborhood. Jordan Anthony Anco, 28, New Richmond, Wis., is facing charges for assault, fleeing police, burglary and receiving stolen property.
SuperAmerica, 545 Summit Ave., reported a $60 gas drive-off May 20. A clear image could not be identified using the surveillance camera. A vehicle was reported stolen from outside Willie's Hidden Harbor, 388 Ninth St., May 19. Police are investigating.
Theft A 13-year-old Cottage Grove male was cited on suspicion of shoplifting May 4 at Kohl's, 7990 Hardwood Ave. An employee at White Pines, 6950 East Point Douglas Road, reported $300 stolen from her purse sometime during her shift May 6. A juvenile male reported two other juvenile males punching him and stealing his skateboard near Park High School, 8040 80th St., May 6. Loss: $100. Holiday, 8610 East Point Douglas Road, reported a $36 gas drive off May 9. The plates on the vehicle had been stolen out of Minneapolis. There are no suspects.
Burning violation A 54-year-old Cottage Grove man was cited on suspicion of a burning violation after reportedly having a small fire April 29 and not putting it out all the way. The fire spread from the yard onto the fence. Domestic assault A 13-year-old male was transported to the Washington County Juvenile Detention Center after he reportedly punched an adult female April 30 in the 7800 block of Hearthside Avenue. Theft An unknown suspect stole $917 of merchandise from Kohls, 7990 Hardwood Ave., April 13. A homeowner in the 8000 block of Hornell Avenue reported an attempted theft April 13 after an unknown suspect took mail from the mailbox and tried to cash a check. The suspect was not able to cash the check and fled a bank in Minneapolis before police could arrive. A 27-year-old Hastings woman was cited on suspicion of shoplifting at $5 Tan, 7145 East Point Douglas Road, April 18.
A 17-year-old Cottage Grove male was reportedly given a juvenile cited for possession of marijuana and prescription drugs March 29. A juvenile Cottage Grove female at Cottage Grove Middle School, 9775 Indian Blvd., was referred to the Youth Service Bureau for reportedly using an electronic-cigarette April 11. Theft A 16-year-old juvenile male and a 13-year-old juvenile male were given juvenile citations for theft Feb. 16 on Hinton Avenue.
A 43-year-old Newport man is suspected of having stolen a used water heater from the victim's residence Feb. 15. A surveillance video shows the man pulling a pickup truck up to the house and loading the heater into the truck bed. Loss: $200-300. SuperAmerica, 1624 Hastings Ave., reported a $20 gas drive-off Feb. 18. Drunken driving A 35-year-old South St. Paul man was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving near Hastings Avenue and 70th Street Feb. 17. A preliminary breathalyzer test showed a blood alcohol level of 0.166.
A resident in the 9700 block of Heath Avenue reported an unknown male came to his door and told him he needed access to the house to get to the backyard and measure a shed March 13. The man said he was with the city, but city officials confirmed they did not send him. Burglary Burger King, 8481 East Point Douglas Road, reported a burglary March 15. Unknown suspects broke the entrance door and stole several hundred dollars in cash.
East Side Auto, 805 Main St., reported a vehicle that was likely stolen sometime in the last month. Loss: $9,500.
p>In the 7100 block of Hidden Valley Trail, an unknown person entered a vehicle in the driveway and stole a cordless drill, change and a garage door opener Feb. 15. Using the door opener, the person went into the garage and took a spare set of keys for another vehicle that was in the garage. Loss: $175. A 29-year-old Cottage Grove man was cited for theft after stealing $104 of gas from BP, 8490 East Point Douglas Road, across three days. On Feb. 10, 12 and 14 he drove off without paying for the gas.
