No. 1 seed Park and No. 4 seed Rosemount needed more time to determine a winner on Wednesday after the rain pushed the game from Tuesday.

In overtime, the Irish were able to find the net first and record the game-winning goal to end Park's 2019 season.

The Irish were leading 6-2 at the half, but the Wolfpack fought back to score six goals in the second half and tie the game 8-8. It was a strong comeback, but Rosemount was able to slip in a late goal to record the victory and advance to the state tournament.

The loss ends a strong run and a strong season for the Wolfpack. Park went 11-2 in the regular season, which led the team to a third-place finish in the conference. That strong season gave the Wolfpack a No. 1 seed in the section tournament.

Park will graduate six seniors from the roster including Mandy Elton, Taryn Leonard, Cayla Quade, Ingrid Granlund and Jailee Hendrickson. The Wolfpack will return many key players to the 2020 season including Emma Henderson, Marie Brookins, Nina Fragola, Shauna Miller and Adie Steinke.

Weekend

Park 17, Eagan 0

Park started the section tournament off on the right foot with a 17-0 win on Friday night. The No. 1 seed had strong scoring and defense from beginning to end. Individual statistics were not available.

Rosemount 16, East Ridge 3

It was the opening round of the section tournament on Friday and No. 4 seed Rosemount defeated No. 5 seed East Ridge with a 16-3 final score. This ended East Ridge's 2019 season.

East Ridge scored two goals in the first half and one more in the second half, but Rosemount was dominant from the very beginning of the game.

The Raptors end their season with a record of 4-8 and will graduate only three seniors. Those seniors include Katie Flynn, Kaitlyn McCarthy and Delaney Lardy.

First-year head coach Sarah Hellier will return the majority of her starting lineup next year and will prepare for a strong 2020 season and future for the Raptors.
