Girls Hockey: Park loses in overtime, East Ridge falls to 4-3


Mounds View 1, Park 0 (OT)

Mounds View and Park kept it a close game on Tuesday night, which put the two teams into overtime. After a scoreless third period of regular time, Mounds View found an opening about four and a half minutes into overtime to win the game.

It was a defensive game between the two teams with minimal penalties from both sides. Mounds View had two penalties in the second period, while Park only had one.

Goalie Jocelyn Veary saved 16 of the 17 shots on Tuesday night for the Wolfpack.

Park will host Cretin-Derham Hall on Saturday, Dec. 8 at 7:30 p.m. to round out the week.

Forest Lake 4, East Ridge 2

Forest Lake started Tuesday night with a hot streak of scoring as it took at 3-1 lead heading into the second period. The only goal scored by the Raptors came from the stick of Makenzie Fetch.

East Ridge came back with a goal of its own in the second period, but it wasn't enough as Forest Lake took the victory with a 4-2 final score.

The Raptors had two goalies play in the game as Maggie Vance saved 10 of the 14 shots before Emerald Kelley was put in to save 19 of the 19 shots later that game.

East Ridge will bring its 4-3 record back home on Saturday, Dec. 8 at 7:30 p.m. as the Raptors host Stillwater for the last game of the week.
