Girls Basketball: East Ridge, Park lose on Tuesday night


Edina 42, East Ridge 24

It was a low-scoring game between Edina and East Ridge, but the Raptors recorded their first loss of the season on Tuesday night as the Hornets won with a 42-24 final score.

Edina led at the half with a 23-15 score and the Raptors only were able to score nine points in the second half.

Kate Burns was the leading scorer for East Ridge as she recorded 12 points. Ella Stegeman had five points, while Madalyn Slavin finished with four points.

The Raptors have one more game this week as they travel to White Bear Lake to start their conference season. The game starts at 7:15 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 7.

Rosemount 67, Park 26

Rosemount started the game with scoring early and often to capture the lead. The Irish never looked back as they finished the first half with a 44-18 lead.

That lead extended into the second half as Rosemount defeated Park with a 67-26 final score on Tuesday night.

Madeline Blumberg led the Wolfpack with seven points.

Park has one more game left to play this week as the Wolfpack travels to Mounds View at 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 7.
