Legion Baseball: East Ridge loses heart breaker to Eastview

It was a 10-10 tie heading into the bottom of the seventh inning between East Ridge and Eastview Legion teams.

Eastview was up to bat in the bottom of the inning and found a way to score a run and walk it off with a single to defeat the Raptors 11-10 on Wednesday night.

East Ridge started the game with Cam Hunter, but went through five different pitchers in the seven total innings. Hunter and Jack Kelnberger each pitched two innings, while Drew Jakubik and Evan Molin each pitched one inning. Finally, Austin Spude pitched one-third of an inning in the seventh.

The five pitchers combined for 13 hits, 10 earned runs, 11 total runs, seven walks and three strikeouts within those six and one-thirds innings.

On the offensive end, East Ridge totaled eight hits, 10 runs, nine RBIs and seven walks. Tanner Stafne and Hunter each had two hits with Stafne hitting two doubles and Hunter earning one. Both of them each earned two RBI’s, while Jonathon Biddick knocked in two runners as well. Along with those three hitters, three other East Ridge batters each earned one RBI to create a well-rounded offensive game.

East Ridge will take a break from the regular season schedule and prepare for the Burnsville Legion Tournament from June 22-24 to play against a range of teams in the league.
