Boys Tennis: East Ridge stays undefeated, Park falls to Mounds View


East Ridge 4, Cretin-Derham Hall 0

The undefeated season continues to stay alive for East Ridge as the Raptors defeat Cretin-Derham Hall 4-0 on Thursday night.

The Fridinger brothers have a strong day as Caleb wins 6-1, 6-1 and Luke wins 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 1 and No. 2 singles matches. Jeffery Deng gets the win in the No. 4 singles spot with a 6-1, 6-1 final score.

In the doubles matches, Eli Van der sman and Sujay Garlapati won the No. 1 doubles match with a 6-1, 6-2 final score.

The Raptors will get back on the court on Monday, April 22 at 3:30 p.m. as East Ridge heads to Eastview.

Mounds View 7, Park 0

The Park boys tennis team faced a strong Mounds View team on Thursday night and fell 7-0.

Every match on Thursday ended in two sets and the Wolfpack are looking to learn as they prepare for a home match against Forest Lake on Tuesday, April 23 at 3:30 p.m.


East Ridge 7, Roseville 0

The East Ridge boys tennis team took advantage of a beautiful day on Tuesday as the Raptors swept Roseville 7-0 to earn their third straight win of the season.

Out of all seven matches, there were zero that went into the third set. Caleb Fridinger started off the day with a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles and his brother, Luke Fridinger, earned the 6-2, 6-0 victory at No. 2 singles.

Adam Ryerse had a strong day with a 6-2, 6-3 final score at No. 3 singles and Jeffrey Deng rounded out the singles matches with a 6-1, 7-5 win at No. 4 singles.

The dominating performances carried into the doubles matches as Eli Van der sman and Sujay Garlapati earned the 6-3, 6-3 victory at No. 1 doubles.

Kevin Chen and Srujan Miryala had a strong match at No. 2 doubles with a 6-3, 6-0 final score. Jakub Belik and Robert Le rounded out the doubles with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 3 doubles.

The boys will be back on the court at East Ridge on Wednesday, April 17 at 4 p.m. as the Raptors take on Wayzata. Then, East Ridge will host Cretin-Derham Hall on Thursday, April 18 to round out the week. The time for Thursday's match is still undetermined.
