Baseball: Park gets the close win over East Ridge

Friday

Park 5, East Ridge 3

It was a crosstown rivalry game between Park and East Ridge on Friday, and the Wolfpack finished on top with a 5-3 win in the conference game.

Matt Wilkinson and Tucker Novotny each went 2-for-4 while Tanner Strantz went 2-for-3. Wilkinson earned two RBI and Strantz had one RBI.

Lex Lindow was on the mound for the Wolfpack and pitched five and two-thirds innings giving up three runs (two earned). Clayton Beurline closed out the game giving up two hits and striking out one.

Cam Hunter was the hot hitter for the Raptors as he went 3-for-4, and Roman Newinski earned two RBI.

Blake Ritzer was on the mound for East Ridge as he pitched six innings giving up four runs on nine hits and striking out two batters. Evan Molin finished the game allowing one run on two hits.

New Life Academy 9, St. Croix Lutheran 5

After a tough loss on Thursday, New Life Academy turned it around and earned a 9-5 victory over St. Croix Lutheran on Friday.

Noah Rodriguez had a strong day at the plate as he went 2-for-4 with three runs scored. Cooper Amon and Andrew Kroohn each earned two RBI in the game.

Cooper Falteisek started the game on the mound for the Eagles and pitched five innings giving up three runs (two earned). He also struck out seven batters and gave up six hits.

Kroohn came in for the last two innings and gave up two unearned runs and struck out three batters.

Thursday

East Ridge 11, Chaska 7

It was a big offensive day for East Ridge as the Raptors captured a road win over Chaska on Thursday, 11-7.

Max Moris had a strong day in the leadoff position going 2-for-5 with a home run and earning two RBI. Joe Trollen had three RBI in the game to help East Ridge gain a lead and keep it.

Zach Thompson started the game on the mound for the Raptors and pitched six innings giving up three runs (two earned). He also struck out seven batters and gave up four hits.

Tanner Stafne and Moris closed out the game to give East Ridge a big win in a non-conference game.

West Lutheran/Maranatha 13, New Life Academy 2

It was a tough game for New Life Academy as West Lutheran/Maranatha took a large lead and never looked back in a 13-2 loss for the Eagles on Thursday.

Cooper Falteisek led the team with two hits and a run scored. The Eagles combined for seven hits total in the game.

Wednesday

Stillwater 2, East Ridge 1

It was a close game between two conference rivals, but Stillwater finished on top with a 2-1 win over East Ridge on Wednesday.

Ryan Thelen was on the mound for the Raptors and pitched a complete game, giving up two runs and six hits, while striking out four.

The only RBI for East Ridge came from the bat of Cam Hunter, who went 1-for-4 in the game. The Raptors only had three hits in the game, but walked five times.

Mounds View 8, Park 2

Mounds View started scoring in the first inning and never stopped as Park fell 8-2 on Wednesday.

Individual statistics were unavailable at press time.

Tuesday

Cretin-Derham Hall 5, East Ridge 4

Cretin-Derham Hall had an early lead on Tuesday, but East Ridge kept fighting. The Raptors made it close, but the Raiders came out with the 5-4 win.

Zach Thompson and Roman Newinski each went 2-for-3 in the game. Ben North and Joe Trollen each had an RBI.

Facing a 5-0 deficit, the Raptors came back in the sixth inning and scored four runs, but weren't able to tie the game in the seventh.

Evan Molin and Ryan Parker combined to pitch three innings and gave up zero runs and only one hit. Cam Hunter gave up five runs in four innings, but only one run was earned and he struck out two batters.

Roseville 6, Park 4

Park was leading 4-2 heading into the seventh inning on Tuesday against Roseville. After Roseville scored four runs in the seventh, the Wolfpack couldn't come back and lost 6-4.

Matt Wilkinson started the game for the Wolfpack and pitched six innings, giving up two runs and striking out eight. Lex Lindow came in for the seventh inning and gave up four runs (two earned).
