Closed for the season: Cottage Grove McDonald’s shut down for demo, reconstruction
The Cottage Grove McDonald’s is now closed until December.
Reconstruction of the McDonald’s — originally constructed in 1973 — began this week.
Construction manager Charlie Miller estimates it will be closed for about four months, reopening sometime in December depending on weather.
The last day of sales was Sunday, Aug. 12.
The new McDonald’s will focus more on drive-thru sales and include an updated indoor PlayPlace.
Service will also be modernized, adding self-service kiosks and meals delivered to tables by staff.
McDonald’s Owner and Operator Patrick Duval said in an email through a McDonald’s spokesman: “We can’t wait to share the new McDonald’s experience with Cottage Grove area guests and look forward to offering them a new way to dine at McDonald’s.”
It will be roughly the same sized building.
