In other actions:

Council approved a contract with Vector Sign Solutions in St. Paul to replace the electronic reader board on the monument sign outside the Cottage Grove Ice Arena. There were three bids submitted. Vector’s bid of $30,930 was $110 higher than the low bid, but the city will recoup that value because Vector will salvage parts of the old sign to use at River Oaks and include electrical disconnect and reconnect in their price.

Council also adopted a resolution that allow the city to seek partners in the acquisition of 7.2 acres of land along the Mississippi River Backchannel on Grey Cloud Island as a public water access and education center.
