County's Draft 2040 Comprehensive Plan survey open until Sept. 30
Washington County residents are asked to provide input on the county's draft 2040 Comprehensive Plan.
The full draft plan, individual chapters, brief informational videos, and an online survey are all available on the county's website.
The online survey is open through Sept. 30.
The comprehensive plan is a guiding document that shapes how the county will grow and change over the next 20 years. The document addresses the topics of:
• land use
• water resources
• parks, trails, and open space
• economic competitiveness and
• resilience and sustainability.
For each topic, the plan identifies issues, sets goals, establishes policies to achieve the goals, and identifies strategies needed to implement the policies.
Prior to submitting the comprehensive plan update to the Metropolitan Council, a public hearing will be conducted in the Washington County Government Center, probably in November. Plans must be submitted to the Metropolitan Council by the end of the year.
To view the draft plan and informational videos, and to take the online survey, see www.co.washington.mn.us and search "comprehensive plan."
