New Life Academy takes second in One Act sections

WOODBURY -- Their performnce of “Alice” earned the cast of New Life Academy second place In Section 4 of the Minnesota State High School League One Act Play Festival. The play, written by Jerome McDonough, is a one-act mashup of “Alice in Wonderland” and “Alice Through the Looking Glass” by Lewis Carroll. The play, which was set in an urban subway station, was directed by Janette Bach and Gina Kortuem.

The cast included Isabel Butler, Lucas Ellingson, Mailee Haak, Will Hamill, Molly Hunt, Emma Lombardo, Jacob Maynard, Lleyton Meier, Lauren Meyer, Jack Moorman, Gretta Nathe, Siri Nicol, Elijah Reitz, Zach Ross, Jackson Skarp , Nathan Stillwell and Rachel Tateosian. The sections were held Feb. 2 at St. Paul Academy.

William Loeffler is a playwright and journalist from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He worked 15 years writing features for the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. He has also written travel stories based on his trips to all seven continents. He and his wife, Michelle, ran the Boston Marathon in 2009.
