Police chase causes Norris Square lockdown
COTTAGE GROVE — A foot chase led to a short lockdown of the Norris Square retirement community just after noon July 26.
According to the report:
Revin Paul Farnsworth, 23, with no permanent address, had just been released from Scott County Jail earlier that day when Cottage Grove police noticed a vehicle driving too fast on Highway 61. The vehicle came back as stolen out of Carver County when police ran the plates.
Police stopped Farnsworth near Hadley Avenue and 80th Street. He then ran into the Norris Square construction site. Police told him to stop and he ran and into the building.
The building was immediately put on lockdown.
Public Safety Director Pete Koerner said a worker at Norris Square saw Farnsworth run downstairs. Police followed and shortly after arrested him without incident.
Koerner said the facility was only on lockdown for a few minutes during the incident.
Farnsworth is facing charges of possessing stolen property and fleeing police.
