Cottage Grove police reports: Multiple thefts; pumpkin thrown through car window


An unoccupied home in the 9700 block of Grey Cloud Island Trail was broken into Oct. 20. A Sawzall and nail gun were stolen. Loss: $625.

A license plate was taken from a vehicle in the 8600 block of West Point Douglas Road Oct. 20.

Over $800 in bow and arrows were stolen from Walmart, 9300 East Point Douglas Road Oct. 20. Police are investigating.

A theft was reported at Target, 8655 East Point Douglas Rd., Oct. 20. There were no charges.

A 28-year-old Cottage Grove woman was cited for four gas drive-offs, driving after revocation and no insurance Oct. 25 at Holiday Stationstore, 8101 Hadley Avenue. The woman stole nearly $300 in gas in four separate drive-offs.

A man in the 8100 block of 66th Street Court reported over $15,000 loss of coins stolen from his home's safe that was pried open Oct. 25. Police are investigating possible suspects. SuperAmerica, 7162 East Point Douglas Rd., reported a theft Oct. 25 of eight boxes of Swisher Sweets cigars.

A man reported binoculars and sunglasses stolen from his unlocked car in the 8300 block of Janero Avenue Oct. 26. Loss: $81.

A woman reported a bag containing an external hard drive of photos of her children stolen from her car in the 8100 block of Jeffrey Avenue Oct. 26.

An 11-year-old male stole a flute at Cottage Grove Middle School, 9775 Indian Boulevard, Oct. 26. The boy was referred to the Youth Service Bureau.

A woman reported an auxiliary cord stolen from her unlocked car in the 8900 block of 83rd Street Oct. 26.

A woman reported her wallet with driver's license stolen from her car in the 8000 block of Jeffrey Avenue Oct. 26. No loss value was given.

SuperAmerica, 7033 Jorgensen Avenue, reported a $34 gas drive-off Oct. 27.

A 25-year-old Hastings man was cited for misdemeanor shoplifting at Kohl's, 7990 Harwood Ave., Oct. 27.

Jewelry and a Halloween costume were reported missing from a home in the 7800 block of 62nd Street Oct. 30. There was no forced entry into the home. Loss: $200.

Two 14-year-old females were referred to the Youth Service Bureau after shoplifting at Kohl's, 7990 Hardwood Avenue, Oct. 30.

A woman with her three children attempted to steal a bowl of candy from a home in the 6800 block of Skylark Court Oct. 31. The bowl of candy was recovered, and no citations were issued.


Firefighters responded to a deck fire at 8243 66th St. Court around 6 p.m. Oct. 20. No injuries were reported.


Rodney Joseph Dublin, 31, of Cottage Grove, tried to flee on a skateboard after police asked him to move his vehicle from a private driveway Oct. 22, according to the report. Police said Dublin was charged with misdemeanor trespass, fleeing from police and possession of drugs.

Traffic arrest

Colin Alexander Grysban, 26, of Cannon Falls, was arrested Oct. 22 after providing a false name to police. Grysban was pulled over for expired tags, and charged with giving false information to police and driving after cancellation.

Property damage

One tire was slashed on a car in the 8800 block of 90th Street Oct. 21. Police are waiting to review video.

A Cottage Grove woman reported her rear driver's side window broken out Oct. 29 at Zywiec's Haunting Experience, 10900 East Point Douglas Road.

A car in the 7300 block of Hidden Valley Trail had the driver's side window broken out Oct. 30.

A car door lock was reportedly punched Oct. 31 in the 9700 block of 84th Street. Loss: $200.

A juvenile reportedly pushed over a mailbox in the 8200 block of Grange Avenue Oct. 31. There are no suspects.

A Cottage Grove man reported a pumpkin thrown through the rear window of his car Oct. 31 at Zywiec's Haunting Experience, 10900 East Point Douglas Rd. There are no suspects.

Drunken driving

A 56-year-old Cottage Grove man was charged for drunken driving Oct. 28 after police responded to property damage for his crash.

A 51-year-old Cottage Grove man was arrested for third degree drunken driving Oct. 29 after he told police he had driven home intoxicated after drinking at another location. A preliminary breathalyzer test showed 0.35.


A driveway in the 7000 block of Jocelyn Avenue was spray painted with obscenities Oct. 29. There are no suspects.

Graffiti was reported in one of the parking spaces at Pine Glen Park, 9710 Hamlet Ave., Oct. 29.

Graffiti was reported on the back of the Lisa's Fabulous Paws building, 7155 Jorgensen Ln. Suite 110, Oct. 30. Damage: $100

A car in the 8400 block of 87th Street was egged Oct. 31.
