While the sun didn't make an appearance at the annual Strawberry Fest Parade in Cottage Grove, the rain held off, a welcomed sign to the hundreds of area residents who lined Jamaica Avenue Saturday afternoon.

Local law enforcement units hyped up the crowd with siren chirps and ushered in dozens of elaborately decorated floats. Music echoed through the parade route as children and adults alike darted after bubble gum, suckers and candy bars thrown from the passing floats.

Parade goers soon made their way to Kingston Park for the afternoon's activities, which included the Business Expo, helicopter rides, carnival and strawberry pie eating contest.
