Founded in 1878, the Gustavus Wind Orchestra is the oldest touring ensemble at Gustavus Adolphus College, performing domestically and internationally. Repertoire ranges from classic wind band literature to more contemporary works, including pieces that feature instrumental soloists and a solo dancer. The band regularly collaborates with well-known composers and conductors, commissioning and premiering new works. Previously, the group has traveled to Poland, the Czech and Slovak Republics, Hungary, Austria, Germany, Sweden, and Norway.
Located in St. Peter, Minn., Gustavus Adolphus College is a private, coeducational, liberal arts college affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. More than one-third of all Gustavus students participate in the music program, with three choirs, two wind orchestras, two symphony orchestras, two jazz ensembles, and numerous chamber ensembles that total over 30 musical ensembles on campus.
East Ridge High School is located at 4200 Pioneer Drive, Woodbury.
