District 833 School Board Meeting

Summary: 5/24/18
Called to Order by Brunnette at 6:30pm at the DSC. Board Members present: Brunnette, Driscoll, Hirsch, Kath, Schwartz, Van Leer & Witte.
Superintendent Jacobus was present. Student Board Reps Jariwala (WHS) & Travis (ERHS) were present. Strom (PHS) was absent. Moved by Van Leer, seconded by Schwartz to approve the agenda. All in favor. Motion carried. District highlighted the Continental Math League & Word Masters
Competition winners. Mary Ellen
Amland addressed the Board during public comment regarding the PHS Emblem. Moved by Van Leer,
seconded by Kath to approve the
following Consent Agenda items:
Retirements, Resignations,
Terminations, Leaves of Absence, New
Employees, Change of Status,
Extended Field Trips, EFT's,
Resolution to Accept Gifts, 4/26/18, 4/30/18 & 5/10/18 School Board
meeting minutes, bid award for parking lot reconstruction at DPC, revised School Board meeting dates for 2018-19, School Board meeting dates for 2019-20, teaching agreement with SW MN State University & cash
disbursements for April. A presentation was given on the 2018-19 Community Education Department Budget. It was moved by Schwartz, seconded by Van Leer to approve the resolution for NE Metro 916 LTFM Budget. Brunnette, Driscoll, Hirsch, Kath, Schwartz, Van Leer & Witte voted in favor. None
opposed, motion passed. It was moved by Driscoll, seconded by Van Leer to approve the termination of long term substitute teaching contracts.
Brunnette, Driscoll, Hirsch, Kath, Schwartz, Van Leer & Witte voted in favor. None opposed, motion passed. Dr. Jacobus & student board reps gave updates. Future meeting dates are 6/7/08 & 6/21/18. At 7:31pm it was moved by Van Leer, seconded by Kath to move to closed session pursuant to MN Statute 13D.03 for labor
negotiations. All in favor, none
opposed, motion carried. The board
returned from closed session at 8:34pm. It was moved by Van Leer, seconded by Hirsch to
re-convene the meeting. All in favor, none opposed, motion passed. The meeting adjourned at 8:34pm.
