Farmers market opens in Old Cottage Grove

COTTAGE GROVE -- Leo Kukacka talk3ed with David and Sandy Wilmarth at the farmers market at Cottage Grove United Church of Christ. The Wilmarths sell their homemade honey each year at the market. It runs 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursdays at the Cottage Grove United Church of Christ, 7008 Lamar Ave., in Old Cottage Grove. Visitors can purchase fresh produce, locally sourced honey, cage free eggs, homemade jams, jellies and soap. Baked goods, fresh-grilled brats, hot dogs and ice cream cones are also available for purchase from the church.

William Loeffler is a playwright and journalist from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He worked 15 years writing features for the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. He has also written travel stories based on his trips to all seven continents. He and his wife, Michelle, ran the Boston Marathon in 2009.
