Richard Palbicki, age 53, of Cottage Grove, passed away peacefully surrounded by family after a brief battle with cancer on July 11, 2009. Richard was born July 3, 1956 in Winona. He graduated from Winona Cotter High in 1974 and the University of Wisconsin- LaCrosse. In 1999 he was united in marriage with Dana Lee Nies. Rick was an active church member. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. Rick loved to cook and travel. He will be remembered for his unbelievable sense of humor. Rick was currently employed by Sara Lee.
Richard "Dick" Willmert, 78, died at his home in Austin July 10. Survivors include wife, Lorraine, Austin; children, Diane (Mike) Gilbert, Rochester, Rick (Julie) Willmert, Cottage Grove, Ruth (Vance) Oelkers, Darlene (Randy) Duholm and Debbie (Mike Marcks) Willmert, Austin, Rita Seha, Rochester; daughter-in-law, Margaret "Margi" Willmert, Mankato; 14 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; siblings, Bryan (Mary) Willmert, Orlo (Jean) Willmert, Justine Willmert; sister-in-law, Barb Willmert all of Albert Lea. Richard "Dick" Willmert, 78, father of Rick (Julie) Willmert of Cottage Grove, died at his home in Austin, Minn. on July 10, 2009. Funeral services 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 15, 2009, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church with Rev. Warren Schmidt officiating. Interment following the service at Grandview Cemetery, rural Austin with military honors by American Legion Post #91. Visitation from 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, July 14 at Worlein Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.

Mark W. Crooks, 41, of Cottage Grove, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2009 at his home following a courageous battle with cancer. Mass of Christian Burial was at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 2 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in St. Paul Park, with the Reverend Greg Esty, officiating. Visitation was after 8:30 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church. Burial was in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis. May 5, 1934 ~ June 28, 2009 Dave Langevin, of Cottage Grove, died unexpectedly. Preceded in death by wife Grace; brother Daniels; parents John and Ann. Beloved father of Michael (Mary), James (Pam), Anne, Mary Peper; grandpa of John (Katelynn), Jennifer, Jacob, Jake, Grant, Alexandra; great-grandpa of Hannah Grace. After graduating from Hankinson High School, Dave served in the United States Army. He attended St. John's University, the University of Minnesota and William Mitchell College of Law. Dave was an attorney with private practice offices in Cottage Grove and Newport.
August 20, 1955 ~ June 19, 2009 Mark Wayne Terrell, of Cottage Grove, was born in Albert Lea. Mark moved to St. Paul Park in 1958 and attended the public schools there. Was a member of the Park Baptist Church and became a member of the American Postal Workers Union upon his employment by the U.S. Postal Service. Preceded in death by his father, Lytle, sister Donna Rae, brother Michael and dear friend Linda. Survived by his mother Donna, brothers Larry (Linda), William (Patti), Steven (JoLee) and many other family members and friends. Visitation was from 1 to 2 p.m.
Martin Joseph Lynch, age 81, of Cottage Grove, passed away peacefully the morning of June 26 in his home. Survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Doralene (Dolly), children Kate Lynch (Jerry) Bix, Mary (Jim) Salk, Betty (Rick) Tintor, Tom (Jill) Lynch, Mike (Mena) Lynch, Barbara Lynch, Carol (Ron) Mavetz; 15 grandchildren and two great- grandchildren, brother Neill O'Neill Sr., also many wonderful nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by beloved son Joey, his parents Joseph and Martha, brothers Edward, James and Robert O'Neill.
