Margaret Virginia "Jenny" Lambert of St. Paul Park, formerly of Wellsburg, W.Va., died early Saturday, March 6, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul. She is survived by her son, Walter (Toni) of St. Paul Park, her daughter, BJ Lambert of Connecticut and her grandson, Travis of St. Paul Park. A private graveside service will be held in West Virginia.
Margaret "Maggie" Thorpe passed away unexpectedly on Feb. 28, 2010. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 6, at Crossroads Church, 5900 Woodbury Dr., Woodbury. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 80th St., Cottage Grove, and from 9-10 a.m. Saturday at the church. Private interment. 651-459-2875
Henrietta O. Peterson, age 96, of Cottage Grove, passed away peacefully at home with family. Private graveside memorial service planned.
Marjorie J. Waldbillig, age 84, of St. Paul Park, peacefully passed on to her spiritual life free from breast cancer and Alzheimer's. Preceded in death by her parents, Rose L. and Louis Peters. Survived by beloved husband of 58 years, Donald J.; children, Mary Lynne (Jerry) Wolfe, Jim (Leigh), Patty; grandchildren, Alison, D.J., Rose (Justin) Wink, Heather Modrynski; sister, Carol Riley; brother and sister-in-law Albert (Janet); other family and many wonderful friends. Marge lived in St. Paul Park and attended St. Thomas Aquinas Church.
Lucille H. Mausolf, 79, of St. Paul Park, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010, at the Golden Living Center-Linden in Stillwater following a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 1, at All Saints Lutheran Church in Cottage Grove, with the Reverend Jules Erickson officiating. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday at Kok Funeral Home, St. Paul Park. Burial will be in Newport Cemetery. Lucille H. Mausolf was born July 7, 1930, in Saint Paul, Minn., the daughter of Joseph and Isabel (Forcier) Handwerk.
George Dirtzu, age 82, of Cottage Grove, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010 at United Hospital in St. Paul. George Nickolai Dirtzu was born Dec. 5, 1927, in South St. Paul, the son of Theodore and Anna (Ostafeciuk) Dirtzu. He was raised in South St. Paul. On Dec. 18, 1948, he was united in marriage with Dorothy Marie Urtel in St. Paul. He served in the United States Merchant Marines. George was a truck driver who loved the outdoors. He enjoyed woodworking, playing softball and golfing. George was preceded in death by parents, brothers and sisters.
Dorothea M. Schmidt (also known as Dot/Dottie to co-workers), 77, of Henderson, Nev., passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, Feb. 13, 2010, after battling cancer for the third time. She was born in New York, N.Y., on March 29, 1932, and was the youngest of ten children. Dorothy lived most of her life in Cottage Grove, Minn., and retired from the 3M Company. She touched many hearts traveling through life's journey. Dorothy is survived by her loving husband, Bill; daughter, Linda; and her sister, Helen. She has been cremated and placed in a companion urn.
John B. Rosenfelt, 53, of Minneapolis, passed away on Feb. 17, 2010, at his home following a lengthy illness. Memorial services were held at the Kok Funeral Home in Cottage Grove, with the Reverend Bert LeBrun officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Fort Snelling National Cemetery. John B. Rosenfelt was born Feb. 27, 1957, in Franklin County, Neb., the son of Willard and Doris (Witte) Rosenfelt. He moved with his family at an early age to Cottage Grove and attended schools here.
Mark Alan Hammarsten, age 51, of Cottage Grove died on Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2010. A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, with visitation starting at 2 p.m. prior to funeral service, at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 80th St. S., Cottage Grove.
Mary Ellen Atkins-Johnson died Feb. 13, 2010. A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, with visitation 1 hour prior at Newport Lutheran Church, 900 15th St. Newport, Minn.
