New RiverTown Multimedia reporter David Clarey started his first day with a bang—literally. The Carthage, S.D. (home of a straw bale museum, by the way) native was on his way to his first day of work when he was involved in a mild fender bender. But he didn't let that minor detail deter him from jumping into his new assignments with both feet. Clarey is a member of RT's government, public safety and features teams, primarily focusing on the Pierce County area, or wherever a good story takes him.
Two people received injuries in a two-vehicle crash in Prescott Wednesday. Prescott police responded at 4:16 p.m. Sept. 19 to the crash scene at the intersection of highways 10 and 29 and Campbell Street.
PRESCOTT -- A two-vehicle crash Wednesday in Prescott resulted in one vehicle rolling over onto the highway, sending one woman to the hospital. Prescott police responded to the crash at 1:41 p.m. Aug. 29 at U.S. Highway 10 and Canton Street.

National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) branches from Pierce and St. Croix counties and Washington County (Minn.) invite the public to a summer picnic 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30 at Prospect Park (511 Wisconsin St., Hudson). NAMI is a grassroots organization which strives to improve the quality of life for people whose lives are affected by mental illness. Its purpose is to provide support, to educate and to empower individuals and families, to promote public understanding of mental illness in order to combat stigma, and to advocate at all levels of government.
The long-awaited St. Croix Crossing bridge connecting Oak Park Heights, Minn., and the town of St. Joseph, Wis., opened to traffic at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2.
