In your lifetime, there are many teachers and mentors whom you will never forget. The ones who taught you to read, gave you self-confidence, and helped you to graduate. A teacher like that at Red Wing High School is Ms. Gaustad. Susan F. Gaustad was born and raised on the flat prairie of Madison, Minn. She graduated from Madison High School in 1970. She decided to go to college when her English teacher, Mrs. Verduse, said to her: "Go to college." Mrs. Verduse was such an inspiration that Ms. Gaustad realized she wanted to become a teacher.

Students all see the posting of lunch prices spread throughout the Courtyard Cafe, but how many actually stop to read the seemingly endless list of numbers?

The circuit fished the Mississippi River in 1999 when the tournament was at Red Wing. Pro Pete Harsh, a three-time PWT winner, took first place that year. "I love this river," he said.
