News flash! It takes money to eat. Of course, this is not a new concept. It has always taken money to eat. But how much money are Red Wing High School students spending on school food? With the options of eating breakfast, lunch, an after school snack, and the occasional stop at the Lunch Box, many RWHS students are finding that their lunch money keeps vanishing into thin air. Students all see the posting of lunch prices spread throughout the Courtyard Cafe, but how many actually stop to read the seemingly endless list of numbers?
In your lifetime, there are many teachers and mentors whom you will never forget. The ones who taught you to read, gave you self-confidence, and helped you to graduate. A teacher like that at Red Wing High School is Ms. Gaustad. Susan F. Gaustad was born and raised on the flat prairie of Madison, Minn. She graduated from Madison High School in 1970. She decided to go to college when her English teacher, Mrs. Verduse, said to her: "Go to college." Mrs. Verduse was such an inspiration that Ms. Gaustad realized she wanted to become a teacher.
