I It's like a get-together for runners — maybe they should call it the Ragnar Reunion. The unique and popular Ragnar Relay Great River race — a two-day team relay event taking runners from Winona to Minneapolis along the Mississippi River — cut through south Washington County on Aug. 16-17.
The Cottage Grove Coyotes put it all together in their first two games of the 2013 playoffs. The 'Yotes beat the Blizzard 8-1 in their first Twin City Men's Adult Baseball League playoff game on Saturday, then followed it up with an 18-1 rout of the Tigers in the quarterfinals on Sunday. The wins put Cottage Grove a win away from a berth in the TCMABL championship game.
Emily Heslin's soccer star continues to be on the rise. Heslin, who plays club soccer for the Minnesota Thunder Academy Elite, was selected to participate in the Elite Clubs National League / id2 National Training Camp, which took part Aug. 2-6, at the Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, Org.

The East Ridge High School dance team participated in the Just for Kix summer dance camp recently. The camp provided the East Ridge dancers with instruction, technical training, choreography and a few days to bond as a team.

PIC: 0814.S.SWC.Keith Badger Former Park assistant coach Keith Badger has been hired as the new head football coach for New Richmond, Wis. Badger, 26, coached at Park — his alma mater - for the past three years. He was a quarterback in high school and went on to play wide receiver in college at the University of St. Thomas. Badger also participated in basketball and track at Park and reached the state track meet all four years of his high school career. His top finish was a second place finish at state by his 800-meter relay team.
