The question on many minds entering the 2013 season was whether or not the East Ridge football team would be able to live up to its preseason hype. The Raptors answered the critics in their home opener on Thursday night in Woodbury.

The Park volleyball team returns five seniors to the roster this fall in hopes of building on a 2012 season that saw growth from a year before.
With no seniors, New Life Academy is fielding the youngest volleyball team in the state, according to fourth year head coach Wally Bomgren. But, that doesn’t mean the Eagles won’t be really good — the Eagles are ranked 15th in the state in Class A to start the season.
Experience is a virtue for the Park cross country running program this year.
After last year’s state meet, the East Ridge girls cross country team felt like there was some unfinished business. Their chance to complete it is now.
Last year, a youthful Park girls swimming and diving team took its lumps. This year, though still young, the hope is those experiences will pay off. Amanda Johnson returns as head coach for a sixth year this fall.
