Jewell Grace (Cox) Heutmaker, age 80, of Cottage Grove, passed away Feb. 5 at Woodland Heights Nursing Home. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, at Wise Family Funeral Home, 400 Spring St., Hastings. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Richard S. Cummings, age 55, of Hastings, died Monday, Jan. 14, at United Hospital in St. Paul. The family is planning a memorial gathering at Hope Lutheran Church, 16898 Michael Ave., Hastings, from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
Maurine Ellen Sarah Bexell, age 93, of Hastings, died Dec. 15 at Regina Assisted Living. Maurine was born March 16, 1919, in Nicollet County, Minn., to Herman Emanuel and Emma Sarah Catherine (Eckberg) Nelson. She married Rev. Everett L. Bexell on June 24, 1942, in St. Peter, Minn. Rev. Bexell died in 1983. She was a former secretary at Tilden Elementary School in Hastings for 20 years. Maurine was a member of the Regina Auxiliary, Our Saviour's Ev.
Maddy R. Sake, age 16, of Hastings, died accidentally on Sept. 6. The visitation for Maddy was held Sunday, Sept. 9, at Our Saviour's Ev. Lutheran Church in Hastings, and 1 hour prior to the 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, funeral service. Interment in the Cottage Grove Cemetery.
Helen Lena (Schultz) Magone, age 92, of Denmark Township (Hastings), died May 10 at the Prescott Nursing and Rehabilitation Community. The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 12, at the Cottage Grove United Church of Christ, 7008 Lamar Ave. S., Cottage Grove, with visitation after 9:30 a.m. until time of service. Interment will follow in Cottage Grove Cemetery.
Jim "Jeeves" Louis Burgoyne, age 74, of Hastings, passed away Feb. 20 at his home. He was the oldest son of Louis and Inez (Glass) Burgoyne, born Dec. 30, 1937, in El Paso, Wis. He grew up and attended school in St. Paul Park. He was a member of the U.S. Air Force as a young man and loved to fish, camp, and just hang out with family and friends.
Theresa M. Meier, age 90, of Siren, Wis., formerly of Prescott and Hastings area, died Jan. 5 at the Prescott Nursing and Rehabilitation Community. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church Mother Seton Hall (west entrance), and 1 hour prior to the 11 a.m. funeral Mass Saturday, Jan. 7, at the church. Interment to follow in the parish cemetery.
Gregory Schaefer, age 83, of Augustana Homes of Hastings, formerly of Newport, died on May 13, 2010. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 24, with gathering at 10 a.m., at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 920 Holley, St. Paul Park. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Dolores A. Manders, age 67, of Hastings died July 16, 2009, at the Regina Medical Center in Hastings Dolores was born March 14, 1942, in Eau Claire, Wis., to Harold and Rosamond (Cook) Anderson. She worked in home health care, and was now thoroughly enjoying her time at Oak Ridge Manor with her many friends and all the arts and crafts. She also loved to play cards, her favorite game being bridge.
