A vacant former gas station in Newport will get repurposed next year when Sicon Motors’ used vehicle business takes over. The property, located at 2030 Hastings Avenue, was the Newport Corner Station but for years has sat empty. The City Council granted owner Riwa Jeremiah a conditional use permit to operate the business on the roughly half-acre parcel, which includes a 2,200-square-foot building. City Planner Sherri Buss said Jeremiah does not plan to alter the existing property at all.
