Russell Gausman, age 78 of St. Paul Park, died on July 21, 2009, at Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury. Russell Erving Gausman was born August 18, 1930, in St. Paul the son of Elmer and Aleatha (Wells) Gausman. On February 1, 1951, he was united in marriage to Jean Berdt in St. Paul.

Dolores A. Manders, age 67, of Hastings, died July 16, 2009, at the Regina Medical Center in Hastings. Dolores was born March 14, 1942, in Eau Claire, Wis. to Harold and Rosamond (Cook) Anderson. She had worked in home health care, and was now thoroughly enjoying her time at Oak Ridge Manor with her many friends and all the arts and crafts. She also loved to play cards, with her favorite game being Bridge.
April 25, 1966 ~ July 15, 2009 Darcy L. Lawson, of Cottage Grove, grew up in Billings, Mont. She attended Joliet High School in Joliet, Mont. where she graduated in 1984. On August 10, 1990, she was married to Steven Lawson in Billings. They have been married almost 19 years. Darcy was an avid gardener, loved needlepoint, reading and cooking. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband Steve; mother Jackie Frickey; and sister Dessie (Duane) Jakober. Also survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, many other family and friends.
Carson A. Sommer, 46, of South St. Paul, born April 21, 1963, passed away unexpectedly on June 24, 2009. Son of Coy and Melissa Bauer, he is also survived by father Peter Damico; sisters Deborah (Michael Wallraff), Rochelle Busch, Mary (Brad Sparish), Melissa (Robert Zuzek); daughter Brooke; granddaughter Yvette; many nieces and nephews; best friend Joanie Knauss and special pal Max. Former Cottage Grove resident and Park High graduate, Carson enjoyed fishing and outdoor activities, but his passion was cooking. He hasd been a cook at several local restaurants where he had many friends.

Richard Palbicki, age 53, of Cottage Grove, passed away peacefully surrounded by family after a brief battle with cancer on July 11, 2009. Richard was born July 3, 1956 in Winona. He graduated from Winona Cotter High in 1974 and the University of Wisconsin- LaCrosse. In 1999 he was united in marriage with Dana Lee Nies. Rick was an active church member. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. Rick loved to cook and travel. He will be remembered for his unbelievable sense of humor. Rick was currently employed by Sara Lee.
