With the ability to seat 2200 fans, East Ridge's gymnasium is a fieldhouse and gym combined, as in newer schools like Hastings, Lakeville South and Stillwater. The gym's expansive maple floor is set up and lined for five courts -- one main court and four auxiliary courts -- each of which can each be divided by curtains.

Park junior Benson, who will also be playing varsity baseball for the second-straight season, will be the lone state qualifier from last season to return to this year's team. Benson finished in eighth place in the high jump and earned all-state honors last season.

Sophomore Jack Barnhart was Park's fourth best scorer in the state tournament last year with a steady 14-over par 158 two-day total score. Barnhart turned in the best round for a freshman at last year's tournament.

Returning for Park this season is senior pitcher Ashley Kluever, who will man the most important position in softball. Kluever was 9-2 last season, had a streak of 14-straight games pitched without a loss, dating back to the 2006-07 season and was all-conference.

Park junior Tommy Swanson returns to the hill this year. Swanson finished the 2007-08 season 4-1 with a 1.65 ERA with 34 innings pitched last season.

Park senior Nick Arrigoni and the Wolfpack wrestling team won its last two matches of the regular season in a triangular on Tuesday night, beating Suburban East Conference foe Roseville 31-25 and topping non-conference opponent South St. Paul 47-21 at Roseville High School.
