Park boys lacrosse: Rally brings win for Wolfpack over Cretin-Derham Hall

Falling behind 3-0 at home early didn’t scare Park in their conference home opener.

The Wolfpack out-scored Cretin-Derham Hall 9-5 the rest of the way to get the one-goal win on Monday, April 21. Lauden Rinzel led the way offensively for the green-and-white with five points on three goals and two assists.

Park scored four goals in the second period to tie up the game 4-4 at the half. The Raiders reclaimed the lead in the third period, 7-6, but the Wolfpack took back control in the fourth with a 3-1 difference.

Brent Wallace scored two goals for Park, and Jeremy Scollick stopped 15 shots in goal. Nick Perry had three points with a goal and assist.

Zack Bezek and Carter Dosemann each put the ball in the net once, and Bezek assisted on one score. Jan Climaco went 5-12 on face-offs.

With the Suburban East Conference opener under their belt, the Wolfpack had a 3-0 record going into one of the SEC’s two remaining unbeatens. White Bear Lake (2-0) proved to be too much for the green-and-white, handing them a 16-9 loss on Wednesday, April 23.

After one period, the Wolfpack had kept pace, trailing 4-3. The Bears pulled ahead by a four goals at the half and held a three-goal cushion going into the fourth quarter.

Clay Dosemann, Carter Dosemann and Rinzel each scored goals for the Wolfpack. Wallace assisted on a two scores, and Clay Diedrich had an assist.

Unfortunately for the green-and-white, they struggled to put points in the net during the fourth quarter as the Bears pulled away with a 5-1 period. Scollick to the loss in goal with nine saves as the Wolfpack fell to 3-1 overall.
