Park boys golf: Wolfpack shoot 349 for 12th place finish in season’s first tourney

The Park boys golf team teed it up for the first time in 2014 on the east side of the Mississippi River last week, taking 12th place in the 20-team Wisconsin Dells Invitational Saturday, April 12, at Trappers Turn Golf Club.

The Wolfpack shot a 349 team score to tie Stevens Point, Wis., for 12th place in the first division of the two-division tourney. Lakeville North and Middleton, Wis., had the top scores with red-hot 304s.

Park senior Alex Holland led the way for the Wolfpack with an 85. Seniors Mitch Reagan and Kyle Salmon each carded 87s, while Connor McCauley scored a 90 and Keegan Oberding scored a 97 to round out the top five.

Weather permitting, Park began its Suburban East Conference season on Tuesday, April 14, at Prestwick in Woodbury, after the Bulletin went to print. Next, the Wolfpack are set to take part in an invitational at the Wilds Golf Club in Prior Lake on Wednesday, April 14.
