East Ridge boys golf: Raptors open season with fourth-place 322 at the Dells

The East Ridge boys golf team opened the season in Wisconsin Dells, Wis., last week to take fourth place in the 20-team Wisconsin Dells Invitational, held Saturday, April 12, at Trappers Turn Golf Club.

The Raptors shot a 322 team score to tie Suburban East Conference rival Forest Lake for fourth place in the first division of the two-division tourney. Lakeville North and Middleton, Wis., had the top scores with scorching 304s.

Senior Sam Cowley and junior John Haering shot matching 79s to lead the way for the Raptors. Senior Jack Caron shot an 81 and sophomores Riley Stegeman and Spencer Cowley each shot 83s to round out East Ridge’s top five.

Weather permitting, East Ridge began its Suburban East Conference season on Tuesday, April 14, at Prestwick in Woodbury, after the Bulletin went to print. Next, the Raptors are set to tee off in an invitational at the Wilds Golf Club in Prior Lake on Wednesday, April 14.
