Park boys basketball: Wolfpack caps regular season Friday

The Park boys basketball team fell to 0-16 in the Suburban East Conference this season with losses to White Bear Lake and Mounds View last week.

Park (3-20; 0-16 SEC) lost 72-52 at White Bear Lake on Tuesday, Feb. 11, before losing 81-44 at Mounds View on Friday, Feb. 14.

The Wolfpack played White Bear Lake tight in the first half and was down 30-24 to the Bears at the break. However, in the second half White Bear Lake (11-13; 7-9 SEC) pulled away, outscoring Park 42-28. Park senior Ryan Klika scored a team-high 15 points in the loss. Junior Anthony Juba netted 10 points and senior Jordan Pinnix chipped in eight points. Tanner Hinck scored a game-high 30 points for White Bear Lake.

Park wasn’t able to keep the game as close against Mounds View. The Mustangs (19-5; 11-5 SEC) went ahead 48-25 in the first half, then outscored the Wolfpack 33-19 in the second half in the 37-point win. Klika and Juba each scored 11 points in the loss.

Park took on Stillwater (11-13; 7-9 SEC) on Tuesday, Feb. 18. Next, the Wolfpack plays Forest Lake (6-18; 2-14 SEC) at home on Friday, Feb. 21, in the regular-season finale.
