East Ridge girls basketball: Raptors riding six game win streak

The East Ridge girls basketball team stretched its win streak to six straight games with Suburban East Conference wins over Mounds View and Hastings last week.

The Raptors (10-3; 5-3 SEC) beat Hastings 66-43 at The Perch at East Ridge High School, before taking down Mounds View 66-40 in Woodbury.

Though East Ridge was without leading scorer Jamie Swanson against Hastings, the game was pretty much over at halftime, as the Raptors were up 36-16 on the Raiders (1-12; 0-9 SEC).

East Ridge senior center Mariah Sexe led the way for the Raptors in the win over Hastings with a game-high 17 points. Also, senior Dai Mixson scored 16 points and Amanda Robinson scored 11 points.

Swanson returned to help lead the Raptors past Mounds View (6-10; 1-8 SEC) with a team-high 17 points. East Ridge went up 33-24 at the half then outscored the Mustangs 33-16 in the second half in the 26-point win.

Mixson and Sexe also each scored 12 points in the victory.

Next, East Ridge plays host to Forest Lake (12-4; 8-1 SEC) on Friday.
