Park boys basketball: Wolfpack falls to Stillwater, Forest Lake on the road

The Park boys basketball team remained winless in the Suburban East Conference after the Wolfpack couldn’t pull off an upset in a pair of road games last week.

Park (3-12; 0-8 SEC) fell 69-53 at Stillwater on Tuesday, Jan. 14, before losing 68-50 at Forest Lake on Friday.

Stillwater (7-8; 3-6 SEC) jumped out to a 40-21 halftime lead on Park. The Wolfpack outscored the Ponies 32-29 in the second half, but couldn’t completely erase the early deficit.

Nine players scored for Park in the loss. Senior guard Ryan Klika led the way with a team-high 15 points. Junior guard Anthony Juba scored 11 points, junior guard Tommy Tola scored eight points and senior forward Jordan Pinnix netted six points.

Connor Gamble scored a game-high 18 points for Stillwater.

Against Forest Lake, Park was within 12 points of the Rangers at the half, but couldn’t close the gap. Forest Lake (5-11; 2-7 SEC) outscored the Wolfpack 36-30 in the second half to hold on for the win.

Eleven players scored for Park in the loss. Juba led the way with a team-high 12 points, Tola scored 11 points and had four steals and freshman guard Tolu Ogunrinde netted nine points and hauled in four rebounds.

Park played host to Woodbury (10-6; 6-3 SEC) on Tuesday, after the Bulletin went to press. The Wolfpack hosts Hastings (3-13; 1-8 SEC) on Friday, Jan. 24. Park beat Hastings last season, but fell 81-64 at Hastings earlier this year.
