Park boys basketball: Neumann, Raiders take down Wolfpack

Sharpshooter Sam Neumann and the Cretin-Derham Hall Raiders proved to be too much for the Park boys basketball team.

Neumann, 6-foot-5 junior guard who is third in the Suburban East Conference in scoring at 21.0 points per game, scored a game-high 25 points to lead the Raiders to an 83-44 win over Park in St. Paul on Friday, Jan. 3.

In all, 13 different players scored for Cretin-Derham Hall in the win. The Raiders (9-2; 5-0 SEC) took a 51-23 halftime lead in the game and never looked back.

Eight different players scored for Park (3-9; 0-5 SEC) in the loss, but nobody hit double figures. Junior Jeb Melson led the way with a team-high nine points. Senior Sully Brenke scored eight points.

Park played host to White Bear Lake (4-7; 2-3 SEC) on Tuesday after the Bulletin went to print. Next up, the Wolfpack tip off with Mounds View (7-3; 2-3 SEC) on Jan. 10 in Cottage Grove.
