Park girls basketball: Wolfpack hang on for 1-point win over Roseville

The Park girls basketball team traveled to fellow Suburban East Conference power Roseville on Friday, Dec. 20, and came back unbeaten in SEC play.

The Wolfpack (5-2; 2-0 SEC) eked out a 1-point victory over the Raiders, 54-53, handing Roseville its first loss of the year.

Park senior guard Sydney Lamberty continued her scoring barrage, leading the Wolfpack with a game-high 25 points. Lamberty, Park’s all-time leading scorer and a Creighton recruit, is currently averaging 25.4 points per game, which ranks seventh in the state.

Park junior point guard Carlie Williams added nine points, senior Temi Ogunrinde scored eight points and senior Molly Swanson scored seven points in the victory over Roseville (6-1; 1-1 SEC)

The win was Park’s fifth in a row and kept the Wolfpack at a perfect 2-0 in conference play.

Park competed in the Hopkins tournament after the Bulletin went to press.

Next, the Wolfpack return to conference play against Cretin-Derham Hall (4-3; 1-1 SEC) at home on Friday, Jan. 3.
