East Ridge girls basketball: Forest Lake too much for Swanson-less Raptors

Forest Lake is regarded as one of the top teams in the Suburban East Conference this season. On Friday, Dec. 20, the East Ridge girls basketball team found out why.

Playing without leading scorer Jamie Swanson, East Ridge (3-2; 0-2) fell 66-34 to Forest Lake on the road.

Forest Lake (4-3; 2-0 SEC) opened up a 33-18 halftime lead and cruised to the 32-point win.

Eight different players scored for East Ridge. Sarah Griffith led the way with a team-high eight points and Mariah Sexe netted six points. But, the team missed Swanson and her 18.8 points per game average.

Forest Lake had a balanced attack in the win with three players in double figures. Anna Eckert led the way with 16 points, seven rebounds, four steals and three blocks. Bailey Norby scored 15 points and Hanna Vidlund chipped in 13 points.

Next, East Ridge welcomes rival Woodbury (5-1; 2-0) to The Perch on Friday, Jan. 3.
