Sports Announcements: Little Running Wolves wrestling clinic, Community Education winter sports sign-up, and more

Little Running Wolves Wrestling Clinic Nov. 4

The Little Running Wolves Wrestling Clinic, sponsored by South Washington County Schools Community Education and Park-Cottage Grove Wrestling, starts Nov. 4 and runs every Monday and Wednesday through Dec. 11 at the Park High School wrestling room. The clinic is for kids in kindergarten through fifth grade, will have 11 sessions and concludes with a tournament for all participants on Dec. 11. The cost is $50 and includes T-shirt and award. Community Education winter sports sign-up

Winter is quickly approaching and District 833 Community Education is gearing up for its Middle School Athletics Program. Brochures were dropped off at Cottage Grove, Lake, Oltman and Woodbury middle schools during the first week of October. Sports include: Seventh- and eighth-grade boys and girls basketball and boys wrestling (grades 6-8). Registrations will be on a first come first serve basis. East Ridge dance team one-day tryout Oct. 21

The East Ridge dance team is holding a one-day tryout to join the winter dance team. The tryout is Monday, Oct. 21, from 3:30-6 p.m. in the second floor Gold Commons. To tryout, winter registration must be completed, including the physical. Please be ready to dance. Girls should have a dance background and be ready to work. The team is competitive and practices four days a week. There will be a mandatory parent/dancer meeting on Oct. 23 at 6:30 p.m. for all team members.

Hale to the Bird 5K un Thanksgiving morning

The fourth Hale to the Bird 5K run, benefiting the Friends In Need Food Shelf, will be held 9 a.m. Thanksgiving day (Thursday, Nov. 28) at Hamlet Park in Cottage Grove. The race is open everyone no matter what age or skill - the event is for both walkers and runners. Cost is $20 before Nov. 8 and $30 after Nov. 8, including on race day.
