Hockey booster golf scramble Saturday

The seventh annual Park High School hockey booster golf scramble begins with a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 27, at Mississippi Dune Golf Links, in Cottage Grove. Registration begins at noon.

Admission is $75 per person for Park alumni 2010-13; $75 for students and $85 for Park alumni prior to 2010. All others pay $95.

The cost includes 18 holes of golf, cart, four-person scramble format, hole games, prizes, dinner and drink ticket and a silent auction.

Middle school football registration

District 833 Community Education is currently accepting registrations for its 2013-14 middle school football program.

Practices are after school from 2:45-4:45 p.m. Monday through Friday from Sept. 3 to Oct. 11 with games on Tuesdays and Fridays at 3:45 p.m.

August practices may run late afternoon/early evening to stay out of the heat. No nights or weekends.

Cottage Grove carpetball league starting

The Cottage Grove Recreation Department is offering fall carpetball leagues starting Wednesday, Aug. 21, at the Lamar Softball Complex.

The league fee is $200 and the season will last eight to 11 games with a one-night playoff to determine the league champion.

Wednesday, Aug. 21, is the start date for the men's league and Thursday, Aug. 22, is the start date for coed. All games begin at 6 p.m., and league fees cover softballs, league champion, plaques, and T-shirts and field maintenance.

Games are played with a "carpet" placed behind home plate and a player from the team at-bat acts as umpire.

Park team holds lacrosse clinic

The Park girls lacrosse team will put on a free lacrosse clinic for all girls in grades 5-8. The clinics will be from 10-11 a.m. Wednesdays July 17, 24 and 31. No equipment is needed. Participants are encouraged to show up and have fun.
