The East Ridge Athletic Association and the East Ridge varsity football staff and players held their fourth annual youth football camp from June 17-20 at East Ridge High School. The camp, held from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, was for kids in third grade through eighth grade. Roughly 110 kids participated in this year's camp, according to East Ridge head coach Mike Pendino.

"It's just great to get to work with the young kids," Pendino said. "They have a lot of fun. We incorporate a lot of drills, all the position drills, for them, they play some games, we do some punt, pass and kick stuff and we watch some film - they get a little bit of everything."

The philosophy of the camp was to provide a sound foundation and refine the skills for all levels.

A highlight for the kids in attendance was getting to work with the Raptors' varsity players, Pendino said.

"They get to meet the guys they come to cheer for on Friday nights - they get to work with them and be around them," Pendino said. "They have a lot of fun at the end of the day."
