Park girls hockey: Wolfpack falls to Hastings 3-2 in regular-season finale

Park closed out the regular season with back-to-back losses, including a 3-2 overtime loss to Hastings Saturday in Hastings in the season finale.

The 3-2 loss came on the heels of a 3-0 loss to Forest Lake Tuesday in Cottage Grove.

The Rangers outshot the Wolfpack (8-16-1, 4-13-1 SEC) 27-22 for the game. Park goalie Caitlin Tate made 24 saves in the loss.

Forest Lake (13-10-2, 7-10-1 SEC) took a 1-0 lead with a goal from Madi Nolan 2 minutes, 16 seconds into the second period.

The Rangers added goals from Kaitlyn VanTassel at 1:01 of the third period and a power-play goal from Kennedy Crever at 7:34.

The Wolfpack finished 0-for-5 on the power play.

Meg Ackerman also scored for Park, which finished with 27 shots on goal. Hastings finished with 32 shots on goal and Tate made 29 saves in goal for the Wolfpack.

Park received the seventh seed for the Section 3AA tournament and will face second seeded Apple Valley Wednesday in Apple Valley.
