Park girls hockey: Wolfpack can't build on momentum against Stillwater

Stillwater stifled Park Tuesday in a 7-2 Suburban East Conference victory in Stillwater as the Wolfpack failed to capitalize on any momentum gained from a victory over No. 19 Cretin-Derham Hall Saturday in Cottage Grove.

Freshman Abby Kirsch and senior Mary Turitto scored for Park in the loss to the Ponies (12-9-1, 10-5 SEC) who have won three of their past four games.

Eighth-grader Bryce Boreen made 33 saves in goal for the Wolfpack.

Sophomore Sam Anderson and sophomore Meg Ackerman had assists for Park.

Following the loss to the Ponies, Park scored a season-high seven goals Saturday to knock off district rival Woodbury at the Cottage Grove Ice Arena.

The Royals beat the Wolfpack (8-14, 4-11-1 SEC) 4-3 in the first meeting of the season Dec. 4 in Woobury, but Park didn't let this one stay close.

Paige Hill and Anna Keys each scored two goals. Hill also had two assists for a three-point night and Mary Turitto finished with a goal and three assists.

Abby Hennen and Abby Kirsch also scored goals for the Wolfpack.

Park scored four power-play goals, including two from Hill.

The Wolfpack held Woodbury to 26 shots for the game.
