Park dance team: Wolfpack holding kids' camp to fight breast cancer
The Park High School Wolfpack dance team will be hosting its annual Kids' Camp on Feb. 19. The team is inviting boys and girls from the area elementary and middle schools to join them at the halftime of the Park boys varsity basketball game against Mounds View.
In a one-day, three-hour camp, the Wolfpack dance team members will teach a short dance routine to each of the participants, who will then perform it at the halftime of the game. Participants will learn basic dance skills, in addition to team work and physical fitness through dance. In addition to learning and performing a short dance routine, the participants will receive a camp T-shirt and free admission into the basketball game.
One dollar of all proceeds will go to the Susan G. Koman foundation for to help fight breast cancer. The members of the Wolfpack dance team chose this organization to donate to because it is one near and dear to their hearts. A few of the members of the team and their families have been affected by breast cancer, so this foundation and camp will help support them, their families and other families out there to help fight breast cancer.
All kids in grades K-7 are welcome to join, and no dance experience is necessary. More information and registration forms will be sent out via school listservs the week of Jan. 28 or can be found on bit.ly/WolfpackKidsCamp. Please contact Park head coach Amanda Hemmingsen-Jaeger at email@example.com with questions or for more information.
