Park gymnastics: Wolfpack beats Roseville, remains perfect in conference

The Park gymnastics team took a huge step toward winning the Suburban East Conference championship on Thursday, Feb. 3, at Park High School.

Park, which is 8-0 in conference meets, defeated Roseville with a 148.55 score to remain undefeated in the SEC with one conference meet remaining. Roseville scored a 147.55 in the loss.

In the meet, Park took first place in the vault with a 37.6 and in the floor with a 37.975, while Roseville won the bars competition and the floor exercise.

Park's Kasondra Tulloch and Rachel Deephouse led the way for the Wolfpack in the meet, taking first and second, respectively, in the all-around competition.

Tulloch, a sophomore, scored a 38.275 and Deephouse, a sophomore, had a 37.825 score. Additionally, Park freshman Kelly McKenzie took fourth place in the all-around with a 36.150.

Tulloch's performance included first-place finishes in the vault (9.525) on the bars (9.675) and in the floor exercise (9.625) and a fourth-place result on the beam (9.45).

Deephouse was second in the vault (9.5), on the bars (9.55), fifth in the beam (9.375) and sixth in the floor exercise (9.4).

McKenzie tied for third place in the vault (9.3) and, along with Park sophomore McKay Zurn tied for third place in the floor (9.475).

The Wolfpack's final regular-season meet is Wednesday, Feb. 9, at Hastings.
