After falling to Woodbury 22-21 to open the 2007 season at Park high School’s Wolfpack Stadium, the Park football team was unable to exact revenge on the Royals in Woodbury’s home opener.

'Pack taken down by Hastings 19-14 in opener

The Park football team couldn’t extend its two-game winning streak over former Suburban East Conference powerhouse Hastings in its season opener on Friday, Aug. 29 at Park High School’s Wolfpack stadium. The Wolfpack fell 19-14 to Hastings in the home opener as the Raiders won the turnover battle in the game. Park committed two, while Hastings had none.

Pair of wins puts ‘Pack in first

Last week was a big one for the Park boys soccer program. The Wolfpack earned two wins over Suburban East Conference foes Mounds View and Hastings and the team is currently tied for first in the SEC.

Park’s Amanda Olsen scored two goals — including the game winner with 4:30 left in the game — and the Wolfpack defense held strong without All-American defender Briana Westlund, who was out with a knee injury, on the way to a 2-1 win over Champlin Park in the girls soccer team’s home opener.

Second year Park head boys soccer coach Jason Arnebeck felt his team turned a corner two-thirds of the way through last season. The Wolfpack carried that momentum into its first game of this year. Park kicked off the season on the right foot on Thursday, as it tied Rosemount 0-0 after overtime in its regular season opener at Park High School.
