We request that notices of death come from an official source, such as a funeral home. If provided by a friend or family member, we do require the name of the funeral home or crematorium handling arrangements. Notices are published free of charge, when submitted online through the Digital Obituary Service website. Death notices submitted any other way will incur a $5 charge. Only one notice will be published at no charge for the deceased living in or formerly from our circulation area. Please be sure to include the name of the deceased, date of birth, age, city of residence, when and where he or she died, and the name and city of the funeral home handling the arrangements.
All obituaries are paid advertisements. The charge for obituaries is $130 for 5 column inches, $15.50 per inch after that when submitted online through the Digital Obituary Service website. The minimum charge for obituaries submitted any other way is $155 for 5 column inches and $20.50 per inch after that. Obituaries will print in the South Washington County Bulletin and also be posted on the South Washington County Bulletin website. Only photos of the deceased are allowed in an obituary. Obituaries must be prepaid. Discounts apply when running an obituary in multiple RiverTown Multimedia newspapers.
