Candidate forums planned for District 833 School Board, St. Paul Park City Council races

South Washington County residents will have an opportunity next month to hear from candidates for the St. Paul Park City Council and the District 833 School Board.

The League of Women Voters-Woodbury/Cottage Grove is sponsoring candidate forums for the two races on Tuesday, Oct. 22. The forums are open to the public and will take place at St. Paul Park City Hall, 600 Portland Ave.

A forum featuring the council candidates will be from 6:30-7:30 p.m. There are four candidates in the race: incumbents Jeff Swenson and Sandi Dingle, and challengers Nathan Kotfis and Darrin Smith.

The District 833 race will be the focus of a forum from 7:30-9:30 p.m. There are 17 candidates seeking five School Board spots -- four four-year seats and a two-year term.

The South Washington County Telecommunications Commission will televise the forums live on cable channel 18 and then replay them at later times.
