St. Paul Park business owner Keith Franke was sworn-in Tuesday as the city's new mayor, taking his seat as the city's first new leader in almost a decade.

Franke -- the owner and operator of the Park Cafe and Franke's Bar on Broadway Avenue -- emerged victorious in his first political foray when he defeated longtime mayor John Hunziker in last November's election.

Council members Tim Jones and Jennifer Cheesman were also sworn-in at Tuesday's meeting, marking the start of Jones' third term at St. Paul Park City Hall and Chessman's first full term after she was appointed last year to serve the remainder of former council member Steve Hunstad's expiring term.
