Commissioners seek statewide 4-H review
Washington County commissioners want state lawmakers to consider studying a long-term funding model for the University of Minnesota Extension's 4-H program.
The County Board is asking a statewide county lobbying organization to push the Legislature to create a 4-H study commission that would look at ways to fund the 4-H youth program. It was among requests the County Board made to have included in its lobbying group's legislative agenda for next year.
The County Board also wants its lobbying group to push for changes to how transit funding groups are governed and how watersheds and other water management organizations are organized.
Commissioners approved the legislative request earlier this month. The Legislature convenes in January.
