School District 833 sees big response to appeal for district advisory committee applicants

More than 160 people have expressed interest in serving on a variety of School District 833 advisory committees, Superintendent Keith Jacobus said.

“I’m really pleased with the number of applications” and the wide diversity among the applicants, Jacobus said. The district is looking for broad representation on the committees.

Filling two committees is priority: Long Range Facility Task Force and Strategic Planning/World’s Best Workforce.

Administrators are reviewing the applications now, Jacobus said. There are not enough positions for everyone, but Jacobus said he wants applicants to stay interested in school issues even if they are not selected for a committee.

The eight district committees include a new one created by Jacobus called the Superintendent’s Advisory Council.
